Sugary beverages like soda can lead to weight gain if consumed in excess. Try this pomegranate refresher for a low calorie alternative to soda. Seltzer water tastes fizzy and you can add your own flavors to make it taste good. This recipe features pomegranate molasses, which gives a slightly sweet yet funky, almost vinegary taste to the drink. Start with one teaspoon pomegranate molasses per glass, then taste and add more as desired. The more molasses you add, the darker the color of the drink will be. Garnish with fresh pomegranate seeds to add a fun pop of color and a tasty nutritious bite. Ingredients 1-2 teaspoons pomegranate molasses 10 fluid ounces seltzer water 2 tablespoons pomegranate arils ice Preparation Start with 1 teaspoon of pomegranate molasses. Add to a tall glass and pour the seltzer water over. Stir. Taste and add another teaspoon as desired. If there are some specks in your drink (this may happen with some pomegranate molasses products), simply strain the liquid for a clean look. Add the pomegranate arils and ice. Ingredient Variations and Substitutions If you do not have pomegranate molasses, you can use a mix of equal parts apple cider vinegar (or regular molasses) and pomegranate juice, or even a sweet aged balsamic vinegar. Cooking and Serving Tips Look for re-usable stainless steel straws at the store. This not only helps reduce your environmental impact by reducing waste, but the stainless steel straw also makes cold drinks taste extra cold! Rate this Recipe You've already rated this recipe.
