Peloton Recalls 2 Million Exercise Bikes—Here Are Some Editor-Loved Alternatives

Peloton announces a voluntary recall of 2.2 million exercise bikes over safety concerns surrounding the bike’s seat post. There have been 35 reports of the Peloton Original Bike’s seat post unexpectedly breaking off the bike mid-ride—several injuries have also been reported. 

In cooperation with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission, the brand cautions users to immediately stop using their Peloton Original Bikes and contact them for a free seat post that can be self-installed.

The Peloton Original Bike, model number PL-01, has been recalled. The Peloton Bike+ is not included in the recall.

How Do I Know if my Peloton Bike is Recalled?

The clearest way to know if your Peloton has been recalled is to check the model number, which you can find on the inside front fork of the bike near the flywheel. If your bike reads PL-01, it has been recalled, and you should stop use immediately.
