Mikael Hanson
Mikael spent nearly 15 years working on Wall Street before leaving the banking world in 2004 and starting ENHANCE SPORTS, an endurance sports coaching and consulting company. There, he has worked with a World Champion, and a few National Champions, and seen his athletes post more race victories than he can keep track of!
Mikael is a USA cycling and USA triathlon certified coach and has worked in a head coaching capacity with institutions such as Asphalt Green and Cadence Cycling and Multisport. Mikael has also been published in numerous periodicals such as Bicycling, Triathlete, and Outside magazines (and even graced the cover of Outside magazine a few years back). A former nationally ranked duathlete, Mikael represented Team USA for the 2007, 2009, 2013, and 2015 World Duathlon Championships.
With over 25 years of coaching experience, Mikael has been fortunate to have worked with athletes of all ages and abilities, from first-timers and CEOs to National Champions—even a World Champion. He currently coaches the New York University Cycling team (who won its first conference championships in 2015), the Columbia University cycling team, and CRCA Development Foundation U23 Cycling Team.
Mikael also handles endurance programming for several charities: JDRF, Parkinson's, and Autism Speaks.
Mikael hails from the Badger state of Wisconsin, where he earned a BA from the University of Wisconsin. He then went on to earn his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
