If you're training for a marathon, you may be planning to use some music to help you get through the 26.2 miles. Here's a great list of running songs to help you create a marathon running playlist.

Keep in mind the length you are going to need for the playlist. What is your usual training workout time? What do you predict your marathon time to be? You'll want to ensure you have enough tunes on your playlist to see you through.

You will also want to think about pacing. Depending on your race, you may have a slow first mile because you are in the thick of the pack and you won't be able to run your natural pace. But you also don't want to go too fast too early in the race. Many marathoners aim for a negative split, or a slow/fast/fade split, so you may want slower paced songs for the first quarter of your race time to keep yourself in check. Use your race playlist on training runs so you can change the mix to suit your tastes and needs.
