Malia Frey has been teaching weight loss, health, wellness, diet and exercise for over 20 years. Her passion for good health inspires her to stay active, eat well (most of the time) and encourage others to do the same.

Malia has a strong interest in working with special populations and those who feel alienated by the traditional fitness scene. She writes evidence-based health and weight loss content for both online and print publications. Currently, she is a full-time health writer and part-time trainer. Malia works with physicians, registered dietitians, behavioral health specialists and fitness professionals to develop web content, instructional materials and news articles that guide dieters through the process of setting and reaching their weight loss goals.

Malia has a bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and a master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is also an American Council on Exercise certified health coach (CHC), certified personal trainer (CPT) and fitness nutrition specialist. She is a graduate of the National Institutes of Health Medicine in the Media program.
