Trying to eat healthier doesn't mean swearing off all drinks besides water. While water is best most of the time, you can still enjoy a flavorful drink every once in a while. Try making your own naturally-sweetened strawberry lemonade at home for a healthier alternative to sugary drinks and sodas. This strawberry lemonade is easy to make, and contains just a few ingredients. It's naturally sweetened with honey and strawberries, so you can feel good about drinking it. Make a big pitcher if you want to serve it at your summer barbecues and parties. Ingredients 1 cup strawberries, hulled and halved 1 1/2 cups water, divided 2 tablespoons honey 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice Preparation In a small saucepan, heat strawberries, 1/2 cup of the water and honey over low heat until berries are softened, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and cool. Place berries (including liquid) in a blender or food processor and blend until smooth. Strain mixture into a container and refrigerate until cold. In a small pitcher, combine strawberry puree, lemon juice, and remaining one cup of water. Serve over ice. Ingredient Variations and Substitutions Try other berries in place of strawberries if you like. To make this vegan, replace honey with agave nectar.
