Running Shoes, Apparel and Gear I’m a Yoga Instructor: Here's Why I Can't Exercise Without My Apple AirPods Pro They’re perfect for working out, commuting, meditating, and so much more By Michelle Parente, CYT Michelle Parente, CYT LinkedIn Twitter Michelle Parente, CYT, is a New York City-based yoga sculpt instructor and lifestyle journalist specializing in health, wellness, and fitness content. Whether it’s a scrunchie for my hair, my favorite pair of ankle weights, or a post-workout body wipe, I always come prepared. But a quality pair of headphones—like Apple’s AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) can truly make or break my workout. For me—second to a pair of headphones that fall out of my ears—there’s nothing worse than trying to get through a hard workout without listening to my favorite pump-up playlist or a podcast. Having a pair of headphones that I can rely on is a must. I’ve tried my fair share of workout headphones, but nothing compares to my tried-and-true AirPods Pro (2nd Generation). Verywell Fit/Michelle Parente Apple AirPods Pro, $200 (normally $249) on amazon.com Prior to purchasing the Pro model, I used to own Apple’s Original AirPods—and let's just say I upgraded in a big way. I liked the original model because of the long-lasting charge, amazing sound quality, compact charging case, and more. But after using the Pros, specifically the second generation, I can confidently say they’re worth the extra $120—if not more. In addition to offering the same benefits as Apple’s Original AirPods, Apple’s AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) stay put in my ears more reliably than the original version. They are the only pair of headphones I’ve ever used (and I’ve tried over ten pairs) that don’t fall out while I’m doing cardio, strength training, and even inverted yoga flows. Plus, I love that the AirPods last up to six hours on a single charge and that the sweat- and water-resistant charging case lasts up to 30 hours on one charge. I also love that you can change the ear tips and use the Ear Tip Fit Test to determine which size is right for you for an even more customized fit. Noise cancellation and transparency are other features that set this version of Apple’s iconic AirPods apart. When the noise cancellation feature is turned on, external sounds are completely blocked out, while turning on the transparency feature will let sounds in. I like to use the noise canceling feature during intense, solo workouts and the transparency feature when I’m exercising with friends or walking outside and need to be aware of my surroundings. Besides working out, I use my AirPods for so much more: Commuting in New York City, working from home in busy coffee shops, taking long walks outside, listening to guided meditations, and more. If you’re in the market for a new pair of headphones, the Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Generation) won’t disappoint. 9 Best Running Headphones of 2023, Tested by a Running Coach See Our Editorial Process Meet Our Review Board Share Feedback Was this page helpful?
