Alanna Waldron, RD, CDN is a registered dietitian (RD). She believes balance is the key to living a satisfying life and to help reach optimal wellness. She believes nutrition plays a crucial role in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease, along with appreciating the simple joy that food can bring to everyday life. Her primary focus is to help her clients find happiness through intuitive eating, allowing all foods to fit without heavy dietary restrictions (unless necessary).
Alanna has worked at Columbia University Medical Center, helping hundreds of New York Presbyterian employees find and reach their personal wellness goals, whether through nutrition and/or fitness or stress management. She encourages others to take small steps and changes to reach their goals to achieve long-lasting success.
Alanna documents her passion for intuitive eating and easy recipes through her well-known blog, Eat Real Food. Whether it’s ice cream or kale chips, she wants to help her audience find peace with food and to not take life so seriously. She is an active contributor to Food and Nutrition’s Stone Soup Blog. You can find Alanna in various publications including The Kitchn, Mind Body Green, Men’s Fitness, and more.
Alanna began her career as the primary inpatient and outpatient RD for Morrison at Vidant Edgecomb Hospital in Tarboro, North Carolina. Throughout her time at the acute-care hospital, Alanna counseled patients on all floors, including the ICU, and was an integral part of the multidisciplinary team for the rehabilitation unit. She was part of the Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation team, where she helped patients improve their condition.
Alanna graduated from Marywood University with a bachelor of science in nutrition/dietetics in 2010. Alanna completed a dietetic internship and training from Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
